Great Wall

On the second day, we traveled to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall (a different section than Sandy had visited in 2007.) We took a cable car up to a midpoint of the wall, with the right section heading down, and the left section heading up the mountain.

We started down the right side, but after checking out the view, decided to climb the left side. We made it up to where there was a sign that said no admittance, which in the pictures below is the watchtower with an antenna, a little below the Chinese sign. Sandy made the climb look easy, Eric didn't...
In the afternoon, we visited the Spirit Way in front of the Ming Tombs. The emperors believed that the statues along the Spirit Way would help and protect them from demons as they progressed to the after life.
