Next we spent a few days at a permanent camp in the Serengeti. The Serengeti is the southern end of a huge plains that stretches on up into Kenya (the Masai Mara), and that the herds migrate back and forth across depending on the season. While we were there, the Serengeti was dry, so the vast bulk of the herds were up in Masai Mara. But that still left plenty for us to see. Several families cheetah, herds of gazelle, giraffes, ostrich, and lionesses with their cubs were only a few of the attractions.
