We took a short plane ride from Arenal to Tortuguero, down on the Caribbean coast. Here, we got to truly experience a tropical rain forest. Unfortunately, that also meant experiencing lots of rain while we were there. We were largely undeterred, however, since the rain was warm, and the lodge had rain parkas. All the rain did put a crimp in our picture taking, though.
