Our hotel in Venice was out on Lido, so each day we would have to take a water taxi into Venice proper, getting dropped off by the Doge's palace. While in Venice, we toured the Doge's palace, St. Marks, and also went up into the tower to get a view across the city. One day we went on a gondola tour through the canals. Finally, we also spent half a day learning how to make true Venetian masks (all four of ours, I'm happy to say, survived the trip home!)
