This morning, we woke to a pod of whales cruising beside us. Then we transferred to zodiacs to tour the bay, encountering a sleeping whale, and observing more ice and another penguin colony.
For the afternoon, we went to Danco Island, and this time went on two different excursions. Sandy, Sherry and Wes went kayaking, while Eric went to the island and hiked up the snow to observe the penguin colonies. (Eric did not hike the rest of the way to the peak.)
When we returned to the Eclipse, we learned that one of the kayak groups had a very close whale encounter, including one surfacing right at the tip of one of the kayaks. Their GoPro video was amazing, which also captured their NSFW verbal reactions...
