We visited Cierva Cove on Zodiacs, weaving in and around the massive ice in the cove. These were mostly anchor ice, ice that is anchored to the seabed. There was also a colony of Chinstrap penguins living on the island.
In the afternoon, we went to Mikkelsen Harbour. home to Adélie and Weddell seals. We trekked through a path stomped out by the ship's naturalists to reach the colony and observe the abandoned harbour on the other side of the island.
